Recommendations for Your Wayanad Journey
1. Road Conditions: Both routes are generally good, but the NH 275 route tends to be better maintained. Always check for any roadwork or conditions closer to your travel date for the most accurate information.
2. Timing: Start early in the morning to avoid traffic and enjoy the sunrise, especially if you are taking the NH 275 route through Mysore. The early morning light enhances the scenic views and offers a serene journey.
3. Stops: Consider stopping at places like Mysore for breakfast or coffee plantations along the way, especially if you take the NH 275 route. This allows you to take a break and enjoy local flavors before reaching Wayanad.
Additional Tips for Your Journey
Carry some snacks and water as certain stretches may have limited options for stops. Additionally, if you are traveling in a vehicle that is not KA (Kerala) registered, you may need to stop at RTO check posts in Kerala to show that you are not carrying any alcohol or drugs. Kerala does not serve alcohol, so this is a standard security check for vehicles coming from outside the state.
Enjoy your trip to Wayanad! It is known for its natural beauty, waterfalls, and wildlife. Make sure to explore these enchanting areas to fully immerse yourself in the experience.
Guest Experiences from Other Visitors
Guests coming to Exuberance Stays typically come via two routes: either through Muthunga Forest or Tholpetty. Both routes are equally good, offering a pleasant drive filled with scenic beauty.
A personal experience adds flavor to your destination. We started our journey from Bangalore at around 6:30 am in February 2021. The early morning climate made the drive seem perfect. With traffic bypassed, we were out of Benguluru in no time and reached Mysore around 8:30 am. From Mysore, we took the picturesque drive through Bandipur Forest, which is a 40-kilometer stretch of clean roads with some dense greenery and beautiful scenery. Although there might be no mobile network, it’s a beautiful and serene experience.
Once out of the forest, you enter Wayanad, with RTO posts where your vehicle might be checked for alcohol or drugs. Kerala does not serve alcohol, so such checks are standard for vehicles coming from outside the state. This adds a layer of authenticity to your travel experience.
Conclusion
The journey from Bangalore to Wayanad offers a mix of beautiful landscapes, natural beauty, and a serene driving experience. Whether you choose Route 1 or Route 2, both offer their unique advantages. Always keep your travel checklist handy and pack accordingly for a smooth and enjoyable journey.
