Train Route
The journey from Howrah to Sealdah via train offers various options that you can choose from:
Option 1: Howrah to Dankuni Sealdah Train
One of the most convenient ways to travel is to take a train from Howrah to Dankuni and then step up to Bally Halt. From Bally Halt, you can catch numerous Dankuni Sealdah trains. This route is reliable and often fast, especially during peak hours.
Option 2: Katwa or Burdwan Line Train
If you prefer a direct train, take the train from Katwa or the Burdwan line to Howrah. The galloping train will reach within 2 hours, while the all-stop train might take between 2.5 to 3 hours. Upon reaching Howrah, you can easily catch a bus or a taxi to reach Sealdah.
Option 3: Bandel to Sealdah
For travelers at Bandel, you have two main options: via Naihati Sealdah or Bandel to Howrah via galloping or local trains. After reaching Howrah, catch either a bus or taxi to reach Sealdah.
Note: There is no direct train from Howrah to Sealdah, so these routes are the best alternatives.
Bus Route
The bus route from Howrah to Sealdah is also a convenient and affordable option. Buses depart from Howrah Jn and can take you directly to Sealdah.

Here are the buses that leave from Howrah Jn to Sealdah:

Bus services are typically available within 40 minutes of departure, but considering traffic and crossings, it may take a bit longer. Buses that directly reach Sealdah Court are within 15 to 21 platform, while buses that reach platforms 1 to 14 require a short walk.
Metro Route
Metro services are another option for traveling from Howrah to Sealdah. You can take the metro from Platform 15 outside Howrah Station and travel to Esplanade. From there, several buses lead to Sealdah Jn. While this route offers the advantage of being fully air-conditioned and more convenient, it is somewhat limited and involves an additional bus ride from Esplanade to Sealdah.
Fares: Metro fare is Rs. 15 up to Esplanade, and the additional bus fare is Rs. 10, totaling Rs. 25.
Important Note
For those taking the bus, make sure you have at least Rs. 50 in your pocket as a cash balance for your journey. Additionally, public transport buses are easily available outside Howrah railway station.
Other Options
Depending on your specific needs, consider taking a yellow Ambassador cab, a prepaid taxi, a shared taxi, or an auto-rickshaw. These options are more costly but more flexible and comfortable, especially if you have significant luggage, children, or elderly passengers traveling with you.
