My Journey to Bangalore: A City That Hears My Heart
My Journey to Bangalore: A City That Hears My Heart
A City That Held a Special Place in My Heart
Even after spending nearly a decade living and working in Seattle for Boeing Company, raising my children, and having a fruitful family life in Bangalore, this city still holds a special place in my heart. Bangalore, known for its vibrant culture, rich history, and infectious energy, has become not just a city, but a home to me.
A Childhood Bond
My journey to Bangalore began during my school days, when I would occasionally visit the city for state-level sports meets. The city’s allure grew even stronger when I had the pleasure of staying with my aunt in Bangalore during my pre-university college vacations. Coming from the smaller city of Hubli, Bangalore always excited me, and I felt a deep connection to the city. As I said goodbye to Hubli, my heart ached, and I would mentally pray that I could stay in this wonderful city.
Love at First Sight
During my final semester of college, I had the opportunity to do my project work in Bangalore. After completing my project, I received job offers from Mumbai and Bangalore. Mumbai offered a better pay package, and it was a marketing job, but my love for Bangalore was too strong. I decided to take the Bangalore offer, and the choice would ultimately change the course of my life.
Bumpy But Beautiful Beginnings
Initially, the transition to a new city was not easy. I was used to being close to home, and being away for long periods was emotionally challenging. I missed my relatives in Hubli, especially my mother, who was mostly alone. However, within just five months, my family and I settled into a rented house in Bangalore. My parents and sister joined us, and we all began a new life together in this city.
A Place of Love and Belonging
Having my parents and family members in Bangalore is a blessing. I take my mom on all the exciting trips and experiences, from visiting vibrant pubs and restaurants to flea markets and exhibitions. I want her to enjoy the vibrant life in the city, and she loves it too, with regular visits to the temple. My dream is to have my own small place overlooking the city, with views of the moon, the traffic, the rain, and the sun.
Bangalore, to me, is more than just a city; it is a home filled with memories, love, and a shared future. I hope to establish a place that I can call my own, and I know that Bangalore will always hold a special place in my heart.
