My Journey with Motorcycles: A Personal Fleet Overview
My Journey with Motorcycles: A Personal Fleet Overview
Every motorcycle tells a story, a story of passion, perseverance, and sometimes a bit of misadventure. Here, I share the stories of a diverse collection of bikes that form part of my cherished memories and everyday life.
Motorcycles in My Garage
My motorcycle journey is as eclectic as it is passionate. I currently own three motorcycles: a DUKE 250, a PULSAR 220F, and a PULSAR RS200. Among them, my favorite is the PULSAR 220F, which I ride more often than the others. While the PULSAR RS200 is in need of repair, I rely on the trusty PULSAR 220F and the DUKE 250 for my daily rides.
A Ride With Classic Charm
Then, there's the 1992 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Tour Glide. This bike is not just a ride but a slice of history, a relic from the past, which belonged to my grandmother until she was unable to ride due to her allergies. It's a reminder of the rich history and emotions surrounding motorcycles.
Modern Muscle
I also own a 2003 Honda Shadow V LX 600 Deluxe and a 2006 Suzuki GSXR 750. The Honda Shadow was my first adventure into a cruiser, while the Suzuki GSXR 750 offered a thrilling and powerful ride. Each of these bikes connects me to a different aspect of my passion for motorcycles.
Recent Acquisitions
The most recently returned to me is a 2013 Harley-Davidson Softtail Deluxe. This bike was a major part of my life before a devastating encounter with a negligent driver on a bridge. Despite the near-disaster, I'm grateful to have it back, and I'm making it look even better. I've already made some upgrades, and I'm planning to add LED rear flashing brake lights and a lighting kit. These modifications will make me more visible, and safety is always my top priority on the road.
Lessons from a Motorcycle Club
Ownership of a motorcycle often comes with a sense of belonging to a community. However, community guidelines are as varied as the clubs themselves. If someone were to deface a club patch, they would not simply receive a stern talking-to. In my experience, any patch holder who disrespects the club's decorum would face significant consequences, such as a physical education class and possibly a ban from the club. The penalties are severe to maintain discipline and respect.
A Special Two
My motorcycle collection is incomplete without mentioning my two personal rides: a black and a green one. The black bike is a 21-speed mountain bike that I acquired for $25 at a thrift store in 2005. Starting life as a rigid mountain bike, it has undergone several transformations, including a shift from mountain bike shifter to a racing saddle and slick tires. The green bike, a 2008 Triumph Street Triple with 26,800 miles on it, is an adventure in itself. It currently rolls on Pirelli Angel GT tires, making it the perfect blend of style and performance.
