Should ILAM Be Your Choice for a BBA in Aviation?
Is ILAM a Good Institute for BBA in Aviation?
The Indian Institute of Logistics and Aviation Management (ILAM) is renowned for its specialized focus on logistics, aviation, and management education. When considering whether it is a suitable institute for a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Aviation, several key factors should be taken into account.
Key Considerations for BBA in Aviation at ILAM
Curriculum
ILAM usually offers a curriculum that seamlessly blends management principles with aviation-specific training, offering a unique advantage to students aspiring to enter the aviation sector. This amalgamation of theoretical and practical knowledge can be invaluable for a future career in aviation.
Industry Connections
ILAM often has strategic partnerships with various airlines and aviation companies, which can provide students with valuable internship opportunities and exposure to the industry. These connections can be crucial for real-world learning and networking.
Faculty
Researching the qualifications and experience of the faculty is essential. The quality of education often depends on the expertise and dedication of the teachers. Prospective students should thoroughly investigate the background of the educators to ensure they are well-equipped to guide and mentor.
Placement Opportunities
It is crucial to evaluate the institution's placement records and the companies that recruit from ILAM. Strong placement support can significantly enhance a student's employment prospects after graduation. Checking the placement statistics and success stories can provide valuable insights.
Reviews and Alumni Feedback
Online reviews and feedback from alumni can offer personal perspectives on the program's strengths and weaknesses. These testimonials can be particularly useful in making an informed decision about the institute.
Location
Considering the institute's location is important. The environment and accessibility of the college can greatly influence both the learning experience and job opportunities in the aviation sector. Students should weigh the convenience of the location against their individual needs.
BBA in Aviation Options in Bangalore
There are several reputable institutions in Bangalore for pursuing a BBA in Aviation, such as Jain University, Presidency University, KristuJeyanti College, Krupanidhi College, IIMS College, BGS Global College, Brindavan Group of Institutions, and East Point College of Management.
Personal Experience with ILAM Mumbai
As a student currently enrolled in a BBA in Aviation Management at ILAM Mumbai, my experience has been mixed at best. The college is far from being well-established, with significant shortages in faculty. The physical infrastructure is underdeveloped, and there are no canteen facilities on campus. Social life is scarce, and the college can be shut down for extended periods without any clear reason.
The academic environment is often disrupted due to faculty members' infrequent visits. The college buildings are in a state of disrepair, looking like ancient structures. The positive experiences, if any, are overshadowed by the numerous student complaints about the subpar facilities.
Alternative Options
Given the current state of ILAM Mumbai, one might consider other institutions that offer similar programs, such as UPES, the Manav Rachna University, or the Prem Kyani School of Aviation Management. For those with a strong financial background, options like the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Singapore or Daytona, USA, or the University of North Dakota in the USA, or Emirates Aviation University in the UAE, can be excellent choices.
