This expansive system serves millions of passengers daily with its extensive and well-connected lines. Total Length of Delhi Metro Lines

Delhi Metro currently consists of 8 lines, totaling approximately 373 kilometers. The network includes various extensions and areas of operation that have been added over the years to serve a growing urban population efficiently.

Line 1: Red Line

Line 1, also known as the Red Line, runs between Dilshad Garden and Rithala, covering a distance of 25.1 kilometers and serving 21 stations. This line has a rolling stock of 26 trains. Key segments include the initial section from Shahdara to Tis-Hazari, which opened in December 2002, and the extension from Inderlok to Rithala in March 2004. The entire 25.1 kilometers became fully operational in June 2008.

Line 2: Yellow Line

The Yellow Line extends over 44.65 kilometers and serves 34 stations with a rolling stock of 60 trains. It provides connectivity between Jahangirpuri and HUDA City Centre. Key milestones include the first section running between Vishwa-vidyalaya and Kashmere Gate, which opened in December 2004, and further extensions from Kashmere Gate to Central Secretariat in July 2005, and from Vishwa-vidyalaya to Jahangirpuri in February 2009. The Qutab Minar to Gurgaon extension and the HUDA City Centre to Qutub Minar extension of Line 2 were opened in June 2010, and the Central Secretariat to Qutab Minar extension followed in September 2010.

Line 3: Blue Line

Line 3, or the Blue Line, serves 49.93 kilometers and 44 stations with 70 trains. Key segments include the initial line opening in December 2005 from Barakhamba to Dwarka, and subsequent extensions in March 2006, November 2006, May 2009, and November 2009. Further extensions opened in October 2010 and July 2011, with segments running from Dwarka Sector 9 to 21, and from Anand Vihar ISBT to Vaishali and Ghaziabad.

Line 4: Blue Line (Yamuna Bank to Anand Vihar)

Line 4 is a 8.74 kilometers long line that serves 7 stations. It opened in January 2010, running between Yamuna Bank and Anand Vihar, linking the city's diverse areas effectively.

Line 5: Green Line

Line 5, also known as the Green Line, is a 15.15 kilometers long cross-country link running between Inderlok and Mundka. It serves 13 stations with 15 trains and was inaugurated in April 2010, serving the number of 100,000 commuters daily. Key segments include the 3.32 kilometers extension from Kirti Nagar to Ashok Park, opened in June 2011.

Line 6: Violet Line

Line 6, or the Violet Line, covers 20.16 kilometers and serves 15 stations with 30 trains. It was opened in two phases, with the first section between Central Secretariat and Sarita Vihar in October 2010, and the Sarita Vihar to Badarpur extension in January 2011.

Line 7: Pink Line

The Pink Line spans across 39.72 kilometers with 23 stations, connecting Majlis Park to Mayur Vihar Pocket I, and 17.86 kilometers with 15 stations, connecting Trilokpuri Sanjay lake to Shiv Vihar. This line was operational from March 2010.

Line 8: Magenta Line

Line 8, or the Magenta Line, covers 37.46 kilometers, serving 25 stations and runs from Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West. The 22.7-kilometer Airport Express Line, or the Orange Line, runs from New Delhi railway station to Dwarka Sector 21, connecting Indira Gandhi International Airport with six stations.
