Real-Life Experiences and Unfortunate Travels

A recent experience of mine serves as a compelling reason to avoid MakeMyTrip for outstation cabs. I booked an outstation cab from Ghazipur to Varanasi, an approximate distance of 97 km, to catch my flight at 6:30 PM from Varanasi airport. Initially, I booked the cab by 2:20 PM, considering that I would reach by 4:30 PM, as per MakeMyTrip's claims.

Chasing the Cab

Initially, the driver was unresponsive, providing only vague information about when he would arrive. His tardiness increased, and by 3 PM, I realized I might miss my flight. With the help of my relatives, I traveled 6 km to a pickup location from my original one. The driver, however, was nowhere to be found, leading to further frustration.

Upon arriving, the driver offered no solution and instead requested a different vehicle. When I received a call from MakeMyTrip, I expressed my concerns, only to be met with an indifferent response of "convenience regretted." The driver clearly stated that he would cover the 95 km distance in an hour, which posed a significant safety risk.

Afraid and Frustrated

Despite repeated communication with MakeMyTrip and the driver, no real help was offered. The driver’s reckless driving, including excessive speeds and contentious behavior, added to the already stressful situation. When the car ran out of fuel halfway, the driver asked me to walk to get petrol, further compromising safety.

After waiting for more than 20–25 minutes without parking lights on, it was evident that my flight was in jeopardy. When I sought help from MakeMyTrip again, I had to rely on Uber to make it to the airport just in time.
